On Saturday 23 January, The Grange closes its doors to everyone but us. The Park Suite becomes an 80s club. The champagne's poured at seven and the dancefloor doesn't stop until two.

Some of you have known Sarah for fifty years, some for five. By the end of the night, we want you all to know each other.

Why staying helps

  • The hotel stays ours. Our buy-out relies on Sarah's guests filling the rooms. Every room booked helps keep it that way.
  • No one to keep quiet for. With no other guests in the building, the party can be as loud and as late as we like.
  • The night doesn't end at 2AM. A short walk upstairs, then breakfast with everyone the next morning.

There are no lifts to the bedrooms. Ground-floor and accessible rooms are available. Tell us when you register and we'll hold one for you.

Dressing up is completely optional. Come as you are and you'll fit right in. If you'd like to join in, pick something you love from the 80s and we'll give you ideas, from a quick five-minute version to the full costume.

How the night plays out

Doors at 7PM, lights up at 2AM, and plenty in between.

    Doors and champagne

    Through the velvet rope and into the Park Suite with a glass of champagne.

  2. 8:00PM

    Canapés

    Canapés come round as the DJs warm up.

  3. 8:30PM

    The buffet opens

    Proper food, so you can go the distance on the dancefloor.

  4. 9:00PM

    The dancefloor opens

    The DJs step it up. Time to dance.

  5. 10:30PM

    The mirrorball moment

    We raise a glass to Sarah, followed by a few speeches.

  6. Midnight

    Go hard

    The last two hours. Leave nothing on the dancefloor.

  7. 2:00AM

    Lights up Bar may extend

    Party officially ends. If the bar is extended we'll tell you on the night.

  8. Morning

    Breakfast for those staying

    Included with every room. Sunglasses optional.

      Before you ask

      Can I bring my kids?

      The party is for over-16s. If you can't arrange childcare, tick the box when you register and tell us their ages. We'll confirm with you directly. Families with children will get rooms close together and away from the Park Suite.

      What's included?

      The champagne reception, the buffet and canapés, the DJs and a few surprises on the night are all on us. You pay for your own drinks at the bar and your room if you're staying.

      Do I have to stay over?

      No. Come for the party and head home whenever you like. If you can stay, though, it helps a lot. Our buy-out of the hotel depends on Sarah's guests filling the rooms, and that's what keeps the whole place ours for the night.

      How do I book a room?

      Use the "Book your room" button in Stay & Travel to book directly with The Grange for Saturday 23 January. Rooms are £90 single or £100 double, with breakfast included. Then tick single or double when you register so we know you're staying.

      Do I have to dress up?

      Not at all. Come as you are. If you'd like to join in, anything 80s counts, from a bit of neon to full disco glamour. The only thing we'd love you to bring is yourself.

      Is there parking?

      Yes. The Grange has on-site parking for about 150 cars. If you're drinking, stay over or book a taxi in advance.

      What time does it finish?

      2AM, with an option to extend the bar. Breakfast the next morning is included for everyone staying.
